Archibald Delicate Balance Limited Edition by Poltrona Frau, born from the creative vision of Shepard Fairey

Poltrona Frau and Shepard Fairey come together to create the new Archibald Delicate Balance Limited Edition: a cultural statement that brings street art and Italian craftsmanship into a unique dialogue between art, care for nature, innovation and timeless beauty.

The project stems from the encounter between Poltrona Frau’s artisanal heritage and the visual language of one of the most influential voices in contemporary art. At its heart is an idea that Fairey himself expresses with striking clarity: “We are all hanging by a thread, even flowers and nature. We human beings should learn to move with the same delicacy and awareness as animals and small birds, which perch with infinite lightness, understanding the need to respect and preserve the thin thread that supports them.”

With Delicate Balance, the Archibald armchair becomes a narrative surface, a three-dimensional canvas where art, design and meaning come together in a single expression. A design icon is transformed into a powerful, accessible and deeply symbolic visual message.

At the centre of the work, the iconic figure of Mother Nature embodies the fragile balance between humankind and nature, evoking universal themes of collective responsibility, interconnection and respect for the natural world. Through the recurring symbols of his artistic universe, Fairey offers a reflection on the present and on our relationship with the world around us.

In this Limited Edition of 200 pieces, Poltrona Frau’s manufacturing excellence enters into dialogue with artistic research and material innovation, resulting in a collector’s piece conceived to stand the test of time: not only as an object, but as a bearer of cultural meaning.

Reflecting the brand’s commitment to sustainability and Shepard Fairey’s environmental and social awareness, the collaboration also extends beyond design through a partnership with Treedom. For every Delicate Balance armchair, two coffee trees will be planted in Guatemala’s Huehuetenango region, supporting a community of 80 Indigenous women.
